SHRM and the Baton Rouge Business Report have joined forces to produce The Human Resources Academy right here in the Capital Region! The HR Academy  is your opportunity to elevate your career and strengthen your impact in the workplace. Through six half-day sessions, you’ll gain practical, industry-leading training on today’s most critical HR issues—talent development, succession planning, organizational culture, compliance, and more. You’ll learn directly from seasoned HR executives and business leaders, earn continuing education credit, and connect with a powerful peer network of professionals who share your passion for advancing the HR field.

HR professionals and aspiring practitioners who want to sharpen their skills, grow in leadership, and strengthen their impact.  Participants can include but not limited to: HR Managers, Business Partners, Recruiters, Benefits Administrators, and Directors.

It’s accredited for continuing education credit and combines practical HR training with strategy, leadership exposure, and expert guest speakers. You’ll gain tools you can apply immediately and a lasting network of HR peers.

You can apply directly or be recommended by your organization. Space is limited, so early application is encouraged. The application form can be found here.

$1,650 covers all assessments, supplies, and coaching over the course of six sessions.

Yes. All cancellations must be received in writing. Because seats are limited, tuition is nonrefundable but may be applied toward a future Human Resources Academy session. Tuition payment acknowledges that the registrant has read and accepted all terms and conditions.

Business casual and comfortable attire. Dress comfortably for interactive learning and professional networking.

We recommend attending all sessions, but if a conflict arises, we’ll help you catch up.

The next Business Report HR Academy will kick off on February 25, 2026. Space is limited, and your application form, followed by a biographical form and payment, must be completed before the start of the program.
